HOTEL ALCATRUZ INTERNAL PROTOCOL – COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

Following the gradual lifting of restrictions imposed by the Portuguese Government, Hotel Alcatruz will reopen its doors to the public on 15 June, with intensive enforcement of several hygiene and safety measures, in accordance with the provisions of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) and Turismo de Portugal.

 

Hotel Alcatruz was awarded the “Clean & Safe” Quality Seal by Turismo de Portugal, which ensures that we comply with all DGS recommendations regarding the implementation of COVID-19 preventive measures.

 

“CLEAN & SAFE” MEASURES

We have implemented all the necessary measures for the “Clean & Safe” seal certification, issued by Turismo de Portugal. These include:

 

. Intensive team training on internal protocols and on preventing the spread of COVID-19;

. Daily self-monitoring by our employees;

. Strict compliance with all DGS standards and recommendations;

. Use of personal protective equipment duly approved by the DGS;

. Provision of an alcohol-based sanitising solution, with an alcohol content of 70 %, for clients only;

. Daily surface disinfection with DGS-approved cleaning material;

. Strengthening of the team dedicated to disinfecting and cleaning surfaces;

. Strengthening of equipment cleaning, using single-use (disposable) utensils, with preference for biodegradable ones as that is our Hotel’s policy;

. Compliance with accommodation cleaning protocols in accordance with DGS recommendations;

. Mandatory use of mask to move within the Hotel’s public spaces;

. Mandatory use of the shoe disinfecting mat at the Hotel’s entrance.

 

CLEANING

All cleaning and maintenance services at Hotel Alcatruz are carried out using products approved by the Directorate-General for Health.

The DGS recommends that no daily cleaning of the rooms be carried out. However, if the client so wishes, they can request it using the registration sheet. The room will have to be unoccupied from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. so that the staff can uphold the recommended cleaning times.

If the client so requests, the room will be cleaned and the linen and towels will be changed in stays with a minimum of six days.

For the client's protection, the cleaning should be scheduled on a day and time to be agreed upon, and the client should leave the windows/shutters open that day.

 

RESERVATIONS AND REGISTRATION

In order to minimise physical contact with our clients we will opt for telephone calls to +351 964 078 926 (SMS and WhatsApp messages) and e-mail messages to geral@hotelalcatruz.com.

 

Each client's registration must be done by e-mail using a form the Hotel will make available, which must be filled in and sent by the client to our e-mail address.

 

The payment of the reservation must be made up to three days before the Hotel check-in, by credit card or bank transfer:

The reservation will only be validated after proof of payment has been sent to the following email address: geral@hotelalcatruz.com

If the payment is not completed within the above deadline, the reservation will be automatically cancelled.

 

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES

Check-in: from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Check-out: until 11 a.m.

Reception hours: from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

 

After reception hours, the key will be available at the counter to be picked up by the client, with contacts available in case of need.

 

The Hotel door will be closed by 9 p.m., and it must be opened using the key provided to the client.

 

COMMON AREAS

The Alcatruz Fitness Garden will be open during the day, upon request and for breakfasts.

Breakfast time: from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

The lounge, gym, massage room and bicycle storage area are all closed.

 

Pão do Rogil, which is our bakery and pastry shop, offers our guests light meals throughout the day, namely salads with fresh ingredients, sandwiches and toasts of homemade bread, wood-oven pies, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks.

A QUIET BRUNCH              

In view of this new reality and so that our guests feel safe and comfortable at Hotel Alcatruz, we will be offering brunch in individual bags instead of the usual breakfast in our lounge, so they can enjoy it wherever they wish – be it in the countryside, on the beach or at our Alcatruz Fitness Garden. We thus aim to ensure social distancing between clients and employees, providing an experience that will make our guests' stay even more pleasant.

 

Hotel Alcatruz offers three brunch options:

 

Brunch 1 (2 pax)

. 2 bread rolls with ham and cheese

. 1 chorizo-stuffed bread roll + 1 mini chicken pot pie

. 2 hard-boiled eggs

. 2 sweet potato custard pies

. 2 fruits

. 2 yogurts with cereal

. 2 juices

. 2 espresso coffees or 2 cups of tea

 

Brunch 2 (2 pax)

. 2 plain croissants + 2 individual butter packets and 2 individual jam/jelly packets

. 1 cod and onion bread roll + 1 mini spinach and mozzarella pot pie

. 1 slice of cake + 1 carob custard pie

. 2 fruits

. 2 yogurts

. 2 juices

. 2 espresso coffees or 2 cups of tea

 

Vegan brunch

. 2 plain bread rolls + 2 individual margarine packets + 2 individual jam/jelly packets

. 2 vegan sausage bread rolls

. 2 plant-based yogurts

. 2 plant-based drinks

. 2 fruits

. 2 juices

. 2 espresso coffees or 2 cups of tea

 

The client will be able to choose breakfast/brunch during registration, by filling out a form Hotel Alcatruz will make available. The breakfast/brunch bag will be left at the room’s door starting at 9 a.m. Each bag holds a voucher for coffee or tea, which can be picked up at our Pão do Rogil bakery (with direct and exclusive access via the Alcatruz Fitness Garden).
